Early Childhood of Northeast Iowa (ECNEI) is dedicated to supporting young children, families, and communities during the most important years of development—from birth through age five.
We work across seven counties to strengthen early childhood systems, support families, invest in quality programs, and help ensure that every young child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.
Early Childhood of Northeast Iowa is part of Early Childhood Iowa, a statewide initiative focused on creating strong communities where young children and their families can thrive.
We bring together parents, educators, child care providers, health professionals, community organizations, local leaders, and other partners to identify needs and invest in programs and services that support children during their first five years of life.
Because when communities work together, children have a stronger foundation for the future.
A child's earliest years lay the foundation for lifelong learning, health, and well-being.
During this critical time, children are developing the skills they will carry with them into school and throughout their lives. Strong families, quality early learning opportunities, access to health care, and supportive communities all play an important role.
By investing in young children today, we are helping build a stronger Northeast Iowa for tomorrow.
ECNEI works collaboratively with families, service providers, schools, health professionals, child care programs, community organizations, and local leaders.
Together, we identify the needs of young children and families, explore solutions, and invest in programs and initiatives that make a difference.
Early Childhood of Northeast Iowa is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors representing communities throughout our seven-county service area.
Our board brings together local leaders, professionals, parents, and community members who share a commitment to improving outcomes for young children and families.
